Rick Frauenberger holds a Bachelor of Science degree From McNeese State University in Health and Human Performance and a Master of Education Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Educational Leadership. He went on to get his Superintendent certification from Stephen F. Austin as well. He has worked in public education since 1993, serving in various teaching assignments, coaching positions, and as a Principal for the past 9 years.
Mr. Frauenberger began his career as a student assistant baseball coach at McNeese State University then took his first job as a Teacher/Coach at Barbe High School. After working in Lake Charles, Louisiana for 6 years, he took a teaching/coaching position back in Texas at West Orange Stark. Mr. Frauenberger went on to teach Algebra, IPC, Biology, U.S. History, Special Education, and Health and PE. He has been the Head Coach of 5 different sports at various schools across Texas. Mr. Frauenberger transitioned into administration in 2010 when he went back to his home town of Grapeland as the Elementary Principal. After 2 years he moved into the role of Secondary Principal and has been there for the past 7.
He has been married for 33 years to his wife, Teri, who will be a teacher at Snook. They have three children. Lisa, 26, is a Design Engineer at Nucor. Shelby, 23, is an RN in Longview. Rick, 19, is going to McNeese State to pursue a degree in Business and continue his golf career. They were all graduates of Grapeland High School.
“I know of Snook’s tradition of dominance from when I was a student athlete at Grapeland in the early 80s,” said Frauenberger. “I know of the trending success over the past few years and the dedication to strive for excellence, and we look forward to taking our place on the team of Snook ISD.”
