WELCOME TO 6th GRADE LETTER

Hi! My name is Amanda Taylor. This will be my 9th year teaching and my 5th year at Snook ISD. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies (a fancy term for education major). 

I am married to a BCS native and we have two wonderful dogs, Cash and Riley. When I am not teaching here at school I love to workout, relax at home, and curl up with a good book!

Schedule:

1&2 Period: ELAR

3rd Period: Conference

4&5 Period: ELAR

6th Period: Dyslexia 

7&8 Period: ELAR

Stay organized.  Keep your backpack, work area, and notebook clean and organized.

Complete assignments on time.  Not only will this help you keep up with the work, but if you hand assignments in late, your grade will be lowered.

·         Late Work Policy:

o   1 day late – 10 point deduction

o   2 days late – 20 point deduction

o   3 days late – 30 point deduction

o   Over three days late will no longer be accepted

Be prepared for class.  Bring your notebook, folder, sharpened pencil, and highlighters to class every day.  Come to class on time and prepared to learn. 

Ask questions.  Let me know if you need help.  I always welcome questions.

Put in effort in class and at home.  Try your best and you’ll learn a lot! Read for at least 20 minutes every night!

Participate in class.  Share your answers and ideas and listen respectfully to your classmates.  You will see that the more you participate in class, the more enjoyable class will be and the higher your grades will be.
