Student art on display in the Snook Post Office

Coach Chambers’s 7th grade careers class has been studying architecture, construction, and business. Last Friday, they got to write questions and interview Coach Chambers’s dad, who owns a construction company, via video chat.
Our 7th graders came up with some great questions and enjoyed the opportunity! Big thanks to Mr. Chambers for volunteering his time!

Message from the Snook ISD Counselors
When you are experiencing a particularly stressful moment, a popular mindfulness exercise known as S.T.O.P. can be helpful.
Stop. Just take a momentary pause, no matter what you’re doing.
Take a breath. Feel the sensation of your own breathing, which brings you back to the present moment.
Observe. Acknowledge what is happening, for good or bad, inside you or out. Just note it.
Proceed. Having briefly checked in with the present moment, continue with whatever it was you were doing.

The counselors have teamed up and each six weeks there will be a Counselor Connection newsletter that will be made available around the time report cards come out. This six weeks the theme is mindfulness. Mindfulness is a grounding practice to help us be fully aware of the present. Practicing mindfulness helps slow racing minds and develop self-awareness in order to regulate emotions. Look for more information and some helpful tips in the Counselor Connection newsletter that is attached. Be sure to also check Snook social media pages and the counselor websites each week for the newsletter as well as resources that follow the theme of the previous newsletter.
